Abstract

A brief description of factors related to diagnosis and treatment is presented with epidemiology, risk factors, socio-cultural aspects of dissociative identity disorder which was previously known as multiple personality disorder. It highlights the points on the current research and particular recommendations which should also be done in the future involving studies that will elaborate on research already completed and provide a more detailed analysis of characteristics of this unique and complex disorder.
