The following policies are applied by Unique Pub International (UPI) for its journals.
Peer Review Process
UPI follows double blind peer review process for all the manuscripts submitted to the UPI journals. All the submitted manuscripts will undergo peer review by consultation with the editorial board members and the submitted manuscripts will also be subjected to independent peer reviewers of 2 in number. After receiving comments from the peer reviewers, Editor-in-Chief of the journal(s) will take a decision on manuscript and same will be communicated to the author(s).
Any submissions from the editorial board member or Editor-in-Chief will undergo independent peer review by subjecting it to the other editor(s) and acceptance depends on the Editor(s) decision followed by reviewers comments.
We know that peer review process is a time consuming process and it’s our prime objective to give a decision on submitted manuscripts at the earliest i.e. within 3 weeks of submission (expected review time).
Proof Read of Manuscript
UPI is an international publisher and we mandate all the manuscripts to be in English language. It is the responsibility of author(s) to check that the language of manuscript should be clear, concise and easily understandable to the greater audience. If any author(s) is/are not native English speaker(s), it is advisable to go for proof read services. However, some corrections will be done in final accepted manuscript(s) by the publisher, if any.
Lodging of Complaints or Appeals
If author(s) or external funding bodies have any conflicts with accepted and published work(s), they can lodge a complaint to the respective journal’s Editor-in-Chief via e-mail
Manuscript Submission Policies
Before submitting the manuscript, author(s) must check the manuscript with following compliance(s),
- Manuscript is submitting solely to the UPI journal (State the journal name during submission).
- Manuscript has not been published in any journal(s) and also it is not under the consideration of any other journal(s) or in public domain simultaneously.
- If any table(s)/figure(s)/image(s) copied from the published work(s), this is the responsibility of the author(s) to get the written permission from the copyright holder.
- It is the responsibility of the author(s) to check the quality and originality of the work(s).
- Journal(s) and/or publisher is/are not responsible for misconduct of work(s), if any.
- Any part of the data or images has not been manipulated to make the results suitable for conclusions.
- All the manuscript(s)/article(s) will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 International License).
- Author(s) is/are responsible for the content of the manuscript(s) submitted to the UPI (for associated journals, book publishing and other products offered by UPI).
- UPI has reserved rights to advertise in the accepted manuscripts.
Hereby, it is informing to all the authors, submission of manuscript to the UPI journal(s) indicates that the author(s) is/are agreeing and following the above compliance(s). Therefore, there is no need to send any copy right form after acceptance of manuscript.
Any one of the authors of the manuscript should submit the manuscript to the relevant journal and it is not permissible to submit the manuscript by agents or any other etc. All the proofs will be forwarded to the corresponding author(s) of the work(s)/manuscript(s) specified during the submission.
Conflicts of Interest
If any conflicts of interests exist, those should be specified in manuscript and it is the responsibility of the author(s) to acknowledge the funding source(s) and/or contributor(s) in the manuscript. During review process, Editor(s) and Reviewer(s) must declare the conflict of interest, whether they have or not regarding the work(s)/study. In any case, if author(s) failed to declare the conflicts of interests, manuscript will be rejected immediately. If it’s found after publishing of paper, UPI will take the action according to the UPI’s articles retraction policy. If authors are from pharmaceutical companies, they must obey the Good Publication Practice Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Companies.
Plagiarism Check and its Limit
Our prime objective is quality, uniqueness and scientific significance of work(s), therefore, we follow the double blind peer review of manuscripts. Therefore, it contributes to the success of scientific publishing. Submitted manuscript(s) is/are also evaluated for plagiarized material by high quality plagiarism software and if, the manuscript contains plagiarized material more than the acceptance limit (20%), then the same will be communicated to the author(s) for revision or paraphrasing of manuscript(s). In order to avoid delay in publishing, this is the responsibility of authors to submit the revised version of manuscript(s) within the stipulated time.
Plant Source Authentication, Ethical and Informed Consent
Plant source used for the study must be authenticated by the expert(s) or recognized personnel and write the specimen voucher number(s) in the manuscript(s). Author(s) must submit the document of specimen voucher number(s) to the journal(s), whenever journal(s)/publisher requested.
If investigation(s) related to the human or animal experimentation are involved then it is a prerequisite to get the approval from the Institutional Ethical Committee and same should be stated in the paper. In case of investigations on human beings, it must be stated in the manuscript that the manner of consent i.e. oral form or written form was taken from the patients or participants. While taking the consent from the patients or participants, it is the responsibility of author(s) to discuss with the participants about the possible risks, benefits and publication(s). In case of minors, author(s) should get the consent from parent(s) or guardian(s).
Author(s) should follow the Helsinki principles for clinical investigations and should comply with the guidelines specified by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors in connection with the patient’s consent for participation and/or research in clinical studies. It is not required to write the patient’s names, initials, hospital numbers and any other details of patients in the manuscript. If Editor required, then the author(s) must provide the review report and recommendation from the respective institutional ethical committee board.
UPI associated journals are open access journals and all the accepted manuscripts are published under Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 International License). This license permits the unrestricted use, production, distribution but not for commercial usage and may not allow the distribution of modified (derivative) material(s) without written permission.
By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the copyright for their articles is transferred to the journal, if and when, the paper is accepted for publication.
Publication and Research Misconduct
It is a serious consideration during the publication process and UPI journals will follow the Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines in case of any suspected misconduct exist.
It will not be charged to withdraw the manuscript(s) in 5 days from its submission and later on, it will be charged 2500 INR per manuscript (in case of Indian authors) and 250 USD (in case of foreign authors).
Article Retraction Policy
Retraction of article(s) will be done in following cases such as multiple submissions, malpractice, infringements, unethical usage of data, manipulation of data to support the conclusions and sometimes due to conflicts of interests. In such cases, publication fee will not be refunded to the author(s) and also author(s) will be charged for costs of legal actions for retraction of article(s), if any. Occasionally or in some exceptional cases, authors are allowed to correct the errors in manuscript(s).
