Editorial Policies

The following policies are applied by Unique Pub International Book Publisher (UPIBP) for book/book chapter publications.

Peer Review Process

UPIBP follows double blind peer review process by consultation with the editorial board members and independent peer reviewers of 2 in number. After receiving comments from the peer reviewers, Editor-in-Chief will take a decision on manuscript and same will be communicated to the author(s).

Any submissions from the editorial board members (or) Editor-in-Chief will undergo independent peer review by subjecting to the other editor(s) and acceptance depends on the Editor(s) decision followed by reviewer’s comments.

We know that peer review process is time consuming process and it’s our prime objective to give a decision on submitted manuscripts/book proposals at the earliest i.e. within 3-4 weeks of submission (expected review time).

Proof Read of Manuscript or Book Proposal

UPI is an international publisher and we mandate all the manuscripts to be in English language. It is the responsibility of author(s) to check that the language of manuscript should be clear, concise and easily understandable to the greater audience. If any author(s) is/are not native English speaker(s), it is advisable to go for proof read services. However, some corrections will be done in final accepted manuscript(s)/book proposal(s) by the publisher, if any.

Lodging of Complaints (or) Appeals

If author(s) or external funding bodies or any other have any conflicts with accepted and/or published work(s), especially those will be raised for edited books, they can lodge a complaint to Editor-in-Chief of Books via Email.

Manuscript (or) Book Proposal Submission Policies

Before submitting the manuscript, author(s) must check the manuscript with following compliance(s),

  • Manuscript (or) book proposal is submitting solely to the UPIBP.
  • Manuscript (or) book proposal has not been published at anywhere and also it is not under the consideration of any other book publisher simultaneously.
  • If any table(s)/figure(s)/image(s) copied from the published work(s), author(s) is/are responsible to get the written permission from the copyright holder.
  • It is the responsibility of the author(s) to check the quality and originality of the work(s).
  • Any part of the data or images has not been manipulated to make the results suitable for conclusions.
  • Author(s) is/are responsible for the content of the manuscript(s) (or) book chapters (or) book proposal(s) submitted to the UPIBP.
  • Rights to advertise in accepted manuscripts.

Hereby, it is informing to all the authors, submission of manuscript to the UPIBP indicates that the author(s) is/are agreeing and following the above compliance(s). Any one of the authors of the manuscript should submit the manuscript to the UPIBP and it is not permissible to submit the manuscript / book chapter by agents or any other etc. All the proofs will be forwarded to the corresponding author(s) of the work(s)/manuscript(s)/book proposal specified during the submission.

Conflicts of Interests

If any conflicts of interests exist, author(s) must specify in manuscript or book proposal and it is the responsibility of author(s) to acknowledge the funding source(s) and/or contributor(s) or any other(s) in manuscript or book proposal. During review process, Editor(s) and Reviewer(s) must declare the conflict of interest, whether they have or not regarding the work(s)/study. In any case, if author(s) failed to declare the conflicts of interests, manuscript or book proposal will be rejected immediately. If it’s found after publishing of book or book chapter, UPIBP will take the necessary action according to the UPIBP's book retraction policy.

Plagiarism Check and Its Limit

Our prime objective is quality, uniqueness and scientific significance of work(s), therefore, we follow the double blind peer review of manuscripts submitted to the UPIBP. Therefore, it contributes to the success of scientific publishing. Submitted manuscript(s)/book proposal(s) is/are also evaluated for plagiarized material by high quality plagiarism software and if, the manuscript contains plagiarized material more than the acceptance limit (20%), then the same will be communicated to the author(s) for revision (or) paraphrasing of manuscript(s)/book proposal(s). In order to avoid delay in publishing, this is the responsibility of authors to submit the revised version of manuscript(s)/book proposal(s) within the stipulated time.

Plant Source Authentication, Ethical and Informed Consent

In case of thesis (or) dissertations, Plant source used for the studies must be authenticated by the expert(s) (or) recognized personnel, if applicable and write the specimen voucher number(s) in manuscript(s)/book proposal(s) and author(s) must submit the document of specimen voucher number(s) to the UPIBP, whenever UPIBP requests.

If investigation(s) related to the human (or) animal experimentation(s), it is the prerequisite to get the approval from the Institutional Ethical Committee and same should be stated in the paper. In case of investigations on human beings, it must be stated in the manuscript that the manner of consent was taken from the patients (or) participants such as oral form (or) written form. It is the author(s) responsibility to discuss with the participants about the possible risks, benefits and publication(s) while taking consent from the participants. It is in case of minors, author(s) should get the consent from the parent(s) (or) guardian(s).

Author(s) should follow the Helsinki principles for clinical investigations and should comply with the guidelines specified by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors in connection with the patient’s consent for participation and/or research in clinical studies. It is not required to write the patient’s names, initials, hospital numbers and any other details of patients in the manuscript and if Editor requested, then the author(s) must provide the review report and recommendation from the respective Institutional Ethical Committee board.

Publication and Research Misconduct

It is a serious consideration during publication process and books/book chapters published by UPIBP will follow the Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines in case of suspected misconduct exist. 

Book Retraction Policy  

Retraction of published book(s) will be done in following cases such as multiple submissions, malpractice, infringements and unethical usage of data, manipulation of data to support the conclusions and sometimes due to conflicts of interests. In such cases publication fee will not be refunded to the author(s) and also author(s) will be charged for costs of legal action(s) taken for retraction of book(s). Occasionally or exceptional cases, it will be allowed the author(s) to correct the errors in book(s)/Book Chapters.
