Abstract

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a major global health related linked to severe metabolic abnormalities. However, effective pharmacological therapies remain restricted. Based on a recent meta-analysis, NAFLD affects 32% of the adult population worldwide. The global incidence of NAFLD is estimated to be 47 cases per 1,000 peoplewhich is greater among males (40%) than females (26%). Drug induced liver injury is commonly caused by Amoxicillin-clavulanate,Azithromycin, Acetaminophen, Methotrexate, Atorvastatin, Ticlopidine and fluoxetine. Selective serotonin receptor inhibitor(fluoxetine)after prolonged therapy shown Non-Alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).This study focused on evaluation of various natural products for their therapeutic potential. The results suggested that natural compounds displayed promising hepatoprotective benefits, potentially reducing liver damage and increasing liver function through various pathways such as oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction and inflammation. Further research in this area could lead to beneficial preventive and therapeutic strategies for patients suffering from NAFLD due to fluoxetine.
